RADSmart > RADSmart - Biometric Access Control System

Finger Imaging is known to be the most accurate, easy to use, and mature Biometric Identification. Biometric Readers with appropriate software are used for fingerprint-based identification. These systems are reliable and available at affordable rates. These biometric readers are more popular in corporate sectors, information centers, banks, data centers, etc. The fully featured Biometric Identification Terminal can be used for Time and Attendance Monitoring and Access Control.

How it works

The system can be implemented in two ways

Identification (Without Smart Card)

With this option, the fingerprints of the employees are stored in the local database i.e. in the memory of the Bio- Metric Reader. Fingerprints of two fingers of each employee are stored along with Employee Unique ID and Employee Name. To enter the restricted area, employee needs to place one of the two fingers on the Finger Scanner (High Resolution Optical Scanner) provided on the Biometric Terminal. The scanned Fingerprint Image is matched with the stored Fingerprint. If not image not matched with the stored one, the employee is prompted to use another finger. Door is not opened if none of the images are matched. On successful employee identification, the Electromagnetic Lock is released for employee to open the door. The Employee Id and Date / Time is stored in the Reader memory. This transaction log can be downloaded into the designated desktop / server database periodically. The benefit of this option is that the Smart Card is not required for the purpose of registering the attendance.

Authentication (With Smart Card)

With this option, in addition to the Fingerprints Images, A Unique PIN for the employee is stored in the Memory of the Contact type Smart Card. To enter, to the restricted area the employee need to insert the Smart Card into the Smart Card Reader slot and need to place one of the two fingers on the Finger Scanner of the provided on the Biometric Reader. The Reader matches the image with the one, stored into its memory. If the image matched, the electromagnetic lock is released for the employee to open the door else Rejection Prompt is displayed and employee is notified for another trial. The Employee Id and Date / Time are recorded in the Reader memory for successful transaction. The Card is blocked after three wrong attempts. The transaction log can be downloaded into the designated Desktop or Server Database, periodically and can b used as input data for Payroll System Software or Vigilance Records. The second option of Card with PIN is costlier than the first option due to Combination Card.
