The client is one of the world's fastest growing
pharmaceutical companies with a massive workforce
of 70,000 people throughout the world that discovers,
develops, manufactures and markets branded prescription
drugs and human vaccines to protect and improve
the health of patients around the world. The
Company's core business includes its activities
in prescription drugs and human vaccines.
Challenges
- The client needed a fully integrated Chemical
and biological data management system to automate
R&D processes.
- The client accepted Activity-Base, a web based
third-party application for robust automation
and data management to facilitate fast, accurate
experimentation and decision making requirements.
- Radiant's challenge was to efficiently manage
and support the application.
- The client had a TLC (Target, Lead and Candidate)
application running, which also required training
and support.
Solution & Approach
Activity-Base is a suite of advanced discovery
experiment management applications that enable
scientists to capture, manage and use all of the
data fuelling the drug discovery process, from
structure registration, to screening, to dose
response, to behavioral studies. Our role was
to provide end user application support (data
processing, calculation, analysis, template creation,
custom scripting and account creation and maintenance),
detailed training and troubleshooting for all
aspects of Activity-Base. We also identified existing
database issues, collaborated with members of
a global team to create and implement final problem
solutions using the Activity Base Client, PL/SQL
and Visual Basic development tools. We were also
a point of contact to the third party vendors
for consultancy requests and problem diagnostics
and solution implementation.
We also supported the TLC Application by using
detailed system architecture knowledge to build
project and assay query reports, trained users
on all aspects of using the TLC query application
(Internal Application). Our role also involved
generating consolidated reports of biological
and chemical research data for project teams and
scientists to generate key research project decisions
for movement from early stage drug discovery to
late stage pre-clinical research.
