Online Passenger Reservation System (OPRS)

OPRS serves all objectives of transport department Management in terms of Implementation of Internal Reforms, Revenue Collection Targets and MIS Requirements. This online product can be used by Booking Clerks, Franchisees and Passengers for rendering passenger services.

Radiant used Open Standards for development of AWATAR with J2EE 3-Tier Server Centric Architecture and IBM DB2 as RDBMS.

Radiant offers many facilities and value added services in OPRS including Blocking of Seats for VIPs, Partial Cancellation of Tickets and Online Payment by Credit Card or through Net Banking Facility.

Radiant offered this solution to Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation in May – 2006. KSRTC is the first Road Transport Corporation in India to implement web-enabled Advance Booking System, like Indian Railway. It was a turnkey project for setting up a Class III Level Data Centre and Development of Web Based Application with Maintenance for 3 Years. Radiant delivered this project as consortium partner with Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL - A PSU under Ministry of Defense, Government of India and IBM.

 
  • Cater to the reservation requirements of KSRTC and four of its corporations including its divisional headquarters and depots and would be accessible from the respective ticketing / reservation counters in bus stations / depots and through the Browser for client access.
  • Wireless interface to provide services on mobiles through various ISPs.
  • Integrated to the GPS system for online notification of the arrival and departure of buses.
  • Confirm to the various data standards like National e-government standards relating to Data Standard definition, Information Accessibility framework and would adopt as much of the Open Travel Alliance specifications as possible.
  • Travel agents, franchises will access the PRS system for all information and reservation too. The commission to be given to these users would be dynamically configurable on the fly without having to shut down, recompile, etc.
  • Provide information to Private Bus Operators like view seat availability and luggage bookings, They can also allot-modify-cancel based on the special privileges provided by the KSRTC
  • Provide MIS to KSRTC Management
  • Integrated with KSRTC subsystems like Accounting sub-system, Ticket Inventory sub-system, Manual Ticketing sub-system etc at the application level.
  • Generate an MIS report pertaining to the schedules, passenger load, etc which is required to the officers and clerks of Bus stations / Depots.
  • The PRS accounting system would consolidate the financial transactions on daily basis and would provide appropriate interfaces to the Finance and Accounting sub-system and Depot Accounting system.
  • Display status notifications like arrival, departure of buses, waitlisted details, cancellation etc. The system will also have the feature to deliver such notifications to any devises like mobile phones / PDA, web notifications, emails. The system will also broadcast this data to Franchises, Call Center and the IVR system.
  • Facility for cancellation, partial cancellation, modification, partial modification like Passenger name, preponement, postponement of Journey etc. taking into account the fees set for the same.
